Carsten Schael is an award winning German photographer based in Hong Kong, China. He works for corporate, editorial and advertising clients in Asia. As a technical consultant and archivist, he advises on the set-ups of digital asset management systems and photo archives. Other consulting activities include photo production organization, project management, photo editing and photography training.
Among his many activities, commercial photographer Carsten Schael is a very active member of the HKIPP (Hong Kong Institute of Professional Photographers). He is serving on its executive committee for over two decades and has been its president twice (1998-2000, 2010-2012). He is involved in organising local and regional photography events. Since 2006 he contributes to several committees of the Foreign Correspondents' Club, Hong Kong. Currently he is serving his fifth term as a board member with responsibilities for House affairs, exhibitions and the FCC Archive.
